LEVEL INCREASING
When it comes to showing a horse, it is not very fun to stay with one level of showing the whole time. As a horse ages, they begin to show understanding and often are able to move up in fence height and difficulty. Just like in real life, it takes practice and experience to move a horse and rider through the levels of showing. Here at Stonebrook, there is a way to move your horse up by following the guidelines and submitting the request form to the board (made of up the Admin and Moderators).
GUIDELINES (Note: These do not have to be followed to submit a request for level increase, but it is highly advised to follow these as they give your horse a better chance of moving up):
1. RP with your horse. It can be trail rides or training rides. Either way, it is a good rule of thumb to write TWO workouts for every level you want to increase. The workout does not have to be about the discipline you want your horse to move up in, but it is preferred. Ie. A cross country ride can be counted towards a dressage level increase and vice versa.
2. The more your horse shows in that level, the better chance it will have of being accepted for a level increase. Ie. A horse with 10 shows at Level 2 Show Jumping has a better chance of being accepted to Level 3 than a horse with 0 show experience at that level.
3. Be creative with personalities. If your horse likes jumping big jumps (5' or higher), he/she will have a better chance of being leveled up from the smaller fences than a horse that struggles with bigger jumps.
4. ADDING DISCIPLINES. Every horse can have up to 3 disciplines initially without requiring any level increases. If you wish to add more, fill out the form and give a reason why he/she should have a new discipline.
Remember, determination of a horse increasing in level is determined by the Board (more than 1 person). We take everything into account when considering a horse for level increase and if the horse is denied, we will also include a reason why and how you could potentially gain it with some improvements.
FORM (Please copy the form below and paste into a new thread):
After your horse has been approved, the thread will be moved to the "Accepted Level Increases" sub-board. Please add the link to your stats so that judges have proof your horse was properly increased a level.
